Hawaiian Wedding Prayer

Lord's Prayer in Hawaiian

Having a Hawaiian wedding prayer read at your Hawaii wedding seems like a natural thing to do. The language is so beautiful and Hawaiian prayers are just so lovely.

There are many different kinds of prayers out there to choose from. One of the most popular is using the Lord's Prayer in Hawaiian.

Here is the Hawaiian translation.

E ko makou makua iloko o ka lani,
e hoanoia kou inoa. E hiki mai kou aupuni;
e malamaia kou makemake ma ka honua nei,
e like me ia i malamaia ma ka lani la;
E haawi mai ia makou i keia la,
i ai na makou no keia la. E kala
mai hoi ia makou i ka makou lawehala ana,
me makou e kala nei i ka poe i
lawehala i ka makou. Mai hookuu oe ia
makou i ka hoowalewale ia mai;
E hoopakele no na e ia makou i ka ina;
No ka mea, nou ke aupuni, a me ka mana,
a me ka hoonaniia, a mau loa aku.
Amene

Hawaii wedding planner companies will often offer to have the prayer printed on beautiful paper and framed for a keepsake. If you use a planner, be sure to ask.

Using a Hawaiian blessing in your ceremony is an easy way to include the wonderful Aloha spirit of Hawaii. The words, the breeze, add a conch shell blowing, a Hawaiian prayer and some gorgeous Hawaiian flowers and a Hawaiian wedding lei and you will have a ceremony with memories to last a lifetime.
